Most of the routes are Campus originals. Some treks pass through National parks, world heritage sites, or other natural protected areas. All our routes cover places of exceptional scenic quality and of course a cultural interest as well. GRADING

We have classified our routes with different grades depending on the various aspects which make a trek easier than another such as altitude, difficult terrain, marshy lands and pathless areas.

Moderate: A moderate trek is suitable for those with a good physical condition and health. You walk daily between 5 and 7 hours and most treks are partly trails and partly cross-country. Experience is not necessary.

Streneous: For this kind of treks you need some experience especially with altitude and cross-country walking. The hiker needs an excellent physical condition, some flexibility and the walker has to recon with 6 - 8 walking hours per day.

Tough: For those who look after a physically challenge, these kind of treks can be interesting for you. The experienced trekker has to count with 6 to 9 walking hours per day, combined with ascent of a small or big volcano in which you may need full mountaineering equipment. You have to walk on difficult paths, ford rivers and negociate with boggy sections.

OUR TREK SERVICES

Guides: Multilingual and knowledgeable about flora, fauna and cultural aspects. Tents: For one or two persons spacious first class tents, mess tent, toilet tent.

Trekking equipment: Chairs, tables, cuttlery, foam pads.

Meals: Well-balanced, delicious and hygenically prepared by our well-trained cooks also for those with special dietary requests.

Luggage: Carried by pack animals or porters.

Transportation: Departure from and arrival to your address in Quito by 4 WD jeeps or expedition bus.

Security: Mobile phone or radio, a comprehensive medical kit and in case of health problems during the trek, we have organized evacuation schemes.

Environmental undertakings: Our personal is trained not to leave any waste in the nature,all litter is carried back to Quito. We only use gas for cooking.
